Synopsis

Jarle is a typical teenager with a girlfriend, a punk rock band, and a rebellious and defying attitude. But when the new kid, Yngve, arrives to the scene, with his Duran Duran records and his pastel-colored polo shirts, things start to change for everyone. His doubts begin on how to react in front of someone so different and with whom, nonetheless, he seems to have so much in common. And because growing up being different is always complicated (and more so if it's the late 80s in a small Norwegian town), friendship, frowned upon by the rest of his friends, will soon become something more in the most painful manner. With an excellent musical selection (an 80s attack with the best of that decade, but which also provides information and accompanies the story), filled with hits by Joy Division, Buzzcocks, R.E.M., and The Cure, among others, The Man Who Loved Yngve goes over paths already traveled (that of sexual awakening), and although the song remains the same, it confirms that ways of singing it can still attract and entertain.
