Old Joy

 

Mark lives with his pregnant wife. He gets a call from Kurt, a friend he hasn't seen in a long time –whom some would call "a hippie"–, to make a weekend trip. Mark and Kurt hit the road, and at some point reach a place amid the green, wet woods of Oregon. Then they come back: Mark to his family, Kurt to his slacking. Old Joy isn't about a strong plot, but it is a great film about atmospheres and sensations, told in present time but leaning to the past, a past never to return which casts a mel [...]
